A digital gaming division of Gala Coral Group, Gala Coral Interactive announced that it has purchased Cool Games, thereby improving its portfolio. It has acquired the UK based software developer that has a library of 300 games and these two groups have worked together for the past years with Cool Games providing games to Coral Interactive casinos.
Cool Games is owned by Andrew Todd, and was established in 2004 developing a variety of slot game designs with different themes for slot manufacturer Barcrest.
According to sources, Gala Coral, the Gibraltar operator did not disclose the purchase amount of Cool Games.
Coral Interactive has been an inventory client of Cool Games, making use of its wide range of games and this purchase agreement will see Gala Coral’s games being developed in-house. Hence, Cool Games will now develop slot based games as well as casino games for Coral Interactive for its igaming operations. The games being developed will be for both desktop and mobile platforms.
In its view to increase innovation, the igaming industry strongly focused on bringing product development and games in house and this also stops the operator reliance on network technologies. Other operators who have engaged in game and product development in house include Paddy Power, the Irish sports operator that acquired development studio Cayetano Gaming in 2011 to boost its own exclusive games and Unibet Plc launched its new poker product designed in-house.
